As Alex woke up, she yawned, still feeling drowsy. She sat up on the edge of her bed and groaned. As soon as she worked up the energy to move, she went to the bathroom and took a shower, put on a simple dress, and stuck her hair in a bun.
Walking into the kitchen, she threw some bacon on the stove for breakfast. As it began to sizzle in it's skillet, the smell of it made Alex feel as sick as a dog. She scrambled into the bathroom, gagging. A few minutes later, and four times vomiting, she shambled weakly back into kitchen, sitting down in a chair. When she gained her bearings, she dialed first Annabell's number, and then Rain's. Neither answered, so she left a voicemail for both.
"Annabell, when you get this message can you come to my apartment as soon as possible? I think we have a serious problem." Alex said to her mother's voicemail, feeling nervous.
"Rain," she said, now beginning to panic, "get to my apartment now! I've got a problem..." With that, she waited for her closest family to come and give her advice.
Her period was late by a week, and she had been vomiting.

Gently slipping awake, Rain rolled over and checked her phone, as was her habit in the morning. Stupid phone. However, there was one message that she must have slept through -- thank God for that -- so she sleepily dialed her voicemail. Her cousin's frantic voice came across as a shock, and she threw on the first clothes she came across, then darted out her door.
Alex had sat still on her couch, phone in her hand, until the doorbell rang. Snapping out of her stupor, she let a poorly-dressed Rain inside. Had the situation been less dire Alex might have commented on the unmatched outfit. Now was NOT the time.
"What's wrong?" demanded Rain, stepping close to Alex. "I came as fast as I could." It was true: Rain had actually stood on her cousin's doorstep panting for a bit before ringing the doorbell.
"I..." Alex began, but trailed off. How would she say this? "My period's late, and I was puking pretty badly before I called you." A strange look, some twisted form of concern and disbelief at being called over for almost nothing flickered across Rain's face, until she herself noticed how pale Alex's own face had become.
"Stomach virus, maybe?" she said, trying to sound comforting. Alex opened her mouth to reply, but the doorbell rang and she started, shutting it with a clack.
Annabell walked in smoothly, the essence of calm. She listened carefully as Rain gave her a quick explanation of the morning's events, and before Alex could say anything, Annabell turned to her.
"Morning sickness, then?" She asked, quirking an eyebrow as she spoke. "I mean, you've had a child, isn't this normal?"
Alex sat with her hands folded in her lap, feeling a bit numb. "With Terra I had it for quite a while." Pregnant... She sighed, and rubbed her neck.
"How the hell am I supposed to tell Shizu if I'm pregnant? Isn't it some serious shit if a demon... y'know, breeds with a Mex?" she asked in a quiet voice. She wasn't at all sure whether or not Shizuo even wanted a child. He had been rather careful...
"Yeah, the apocalypse," Rain muttered, avoiding Alex's eyes as her worry increased to fear. To Rain, the poor girl seemed to have taken that rather poorly. Great move, girl, she thought to herself. Her cousin only continued to look at her for another moment.
Suddenly, Alex dropped her head into her hands, screaming in frustration. "Fuckfuckfuckfuckfuck FUCK!" she cried out, feeling her eyes begin to clench and burn.
{Good for now}
